Samsung Digital Imaging has opened ST5500(CL80)/ST5000(TL240)’s micro site and U20/U10’s one.

The ST5500(CL80)/ST5000(TL240)’s micro site provides not only products’ information but also its Story. On the ST5500(CL80)/ST5000(TL240)’s site, users can ‘follow the codes’ with a man, and complete mission to know more about ST5500(CL80) and ST5000(TL240).

ST5500(CL80) and ST5000(TL240) are hydro-formed cameras providing smart functions such as Smart Gesture UI, Dual Image Stabilization, Smart Auto 2.0 (Still & Movie) and Smart Filter.

What’s your hobby?

I don’t think I haven’t mentioned anything about what I do. I’m currently attending at George Brown College in Toronto as a student for Jewellery Arts program. Because I have some spare time this year, I tried to make a piece with leftover materials from last year.

It’s not a finished piece – silver is not polished and stones are not set. I’m trying to make a pendant for necklace but not decided yet for sure.. We’ll see what happen later. :) I’ll show you the finished piece in the future IF I finish this in this term… lol

I usually take a rest at home with having some tea or coffee after coming back from school or work. I had huge interest on black tea about 5 years ago and it became one of my hobbies. I still enjoy making variety kinds of tea not using tea bags – like milk tea, fruit tea, iced tea, or tea from other countries like Russian tea. (I recommend Russian tea for people who cannot sleep easily at night!)

Today, I’ve decided to have my favourite tea, Assam.

These are some of tea that I have. I usually buy small bags to taste more and not to keep tea leaves too long, except Assam because it’s my all time favourite!

Standard of tea for one person is one teakettle, so about two and half tea cups in total. But that’s what it says in Europe or by tea experts so the amount of tea is totally up to people who are drinking. :)

These are the kettle and teacup that I’m using. Porcelain kettle is better than the iron one because it keeps the heat and scent of tea longer. I also enjoy white colour teacup to see the colour of tea. :)

Using tap water is the best for tea because more oxygen in water gives you better taste of tea. If you don’t have tap water, shaken bottle of water is fine too. :)

First boiling water is for warming up the kettle and teacup. Warmed up kettle makes more movement of tea leaves so it can give you smooth and deep taste and scent. Keep hot water in kettle while you boil water again for tea.

After 2 or 3 minutes later, throw away hot water from kettle and put 1 heaping teaspoon of tea leaf. That’s what it says on the guide but again, it’s totally up to the person who will enjoy it. :) Better close the kettle after put tea leaf to not to lose the scent!

I usually have a first cup after 2 minutes brewing it especially for Assam, because Assam has strong taste. I recommend Assam for milk tea as well from that point. :) Having some sweet cookies or sweet scone is also a good match with Assam straight tea.

Tag your Memory EP3. Are you a fan of Geotagging and Social Network? Than, ST1000(CL65) is your answer!!

In my last two postings, we took a look at how to use ST1000 (CL65) for geotagging. Today, I would like to share three characteristics of ST1000 (CL65) before finishing my series on ‘Tag your memory’.

I will be covering the following three features today.

l How to do real-time location logging (geotagging) using Wi-Fi and GPS and post real-time on various web albums

l How to take pictures at various modes using Smart Auto function

l How to select menu and flip through photos by tilting the camera to the front, back and to the sides with Smart Gesture UI

1. Wireless network – GPS, Wi-Fi

I went over in detail the wireless network functions of ST1000(CL65) in the previous two postings. In particular, uploading photos through AP access, uploading to social media (not accessible of web authentication is required), and geo-tagging using GPS are key features of ST1000(CL65).

Use Wi-Fi to e-mail photos that you took to your friends and upload them to Picasa, Facebook, YouTube, Samsungimaging, Flickr or Twitter. ST1000(CL65)’s Wi-Fi enables you to quickly send and share photos cable free, even when you are on the move .

You can also use GPS function to match the photos you took using web albums such as Panoramio and Picasa with Google Map or Google Earth. Uploading photos that you took while traveling or of nice restaurants and sharing them with your friends will be tons of fun.

Take note that battery lasts shorter with GSP function on. If you are planning to use GPS function for a long time, make sure to take along extra batteries with you!

2. Smart Auto

Many of the recently launched Samsung Cameras have smart auto function. This function automatically analyzes the surroundings at the time of shooting and helps to capture optimal results. For example, if you are taking portraits, the camera will automatically apply beauty shot function to correct the skin. During night time, the mode is set to night mode and would flash an icon recommending the use of tripod.

3. Smart Gesture UI

Have you ever tried G-sensor? Many gadgets including mobile phones come with G-sensor, which is a motion sensor. ST1000(CL65) is no exception! If you shake your camera or turn it this and that way, the pre-set functions will run automatically. This means that you can turn on or turn off a certain function with one snap, without ever having to press buttons multiple times!

With ST1000(CL65), you don’t need to manipulate with force for accurate recognition. Simply shift the direction and the functions will come into action. If you tilt the camera sideways under photo album, you can flip through the photos back and forth.

ST1000(CL65) offers many other functions not described here. Yet, these three are the key differentiating factors.

ST1000(CL65) will be the best choice for not only SNS users but also those who love to travel or those who want to share information with many others.

EP2. ST1000(CL65) meets Twitter

Hi! It’s been a while since the last posting. Last time, we took a look at geotagging using Intelli Studio. Today we are going to take a look at uploading the geotagged photos directly to twitter using ST1000(CL65).

ST1000(CL65) has built-in functions that enables you to use Wi-fi to upload pictures to Picasa, Facebook, YouTube and Samsungimaging.com. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support updating pictures to Twitter. That is why I want to guide you through how to use the e-mail function in ST1000(CL65) and Flickr2Twitter to upload pictures.

First, go to Flickr2Twitter(http://www.flickr.com/account/blogs/add/twitter) to sign up for an e-mail account. If you use the e-mail function of ST1000(CL65) using this e-mail account, you can upload both to Twitter and Flickr. This is how you do it step by step.

Move to the Authorize page of Flickr2Twitter.

Select ‘Allow’, of course.

If you are done with this process, you will receive an e-mail account that allows you to
update using mobile device.

I guess you had no problem following me up to this point, right? Now, let’s turn on ST1000(CL65). Go to Wireless Networking Mode.

Using the e-mail account you received, send the pictures via Wi-fi. After a few minutes, you will be able to see that the pictures have been uploaded to your Twitter and Flickr account.

However, Flickr will only show a message saying that the photo has been sent from ST1000(CL65). You simply need to correct this at Flickr.

If you were to activate the GPS function, you will be able to record the location of the photos you took using Flickr.

Of course, with ST1000(CL65), you can use Intelli Studio to upload directly to Flickr or to Facebook.

First Rendezvous with Samsung’s Strategic Camera ST1000(CL65)

It happened that I became one of the Samsung camera experience group members. Personally I do not like being paid for doing something though. However, my blood type is B so I say what I have to say even though I’m remunerated for my service.

Therefore, I have no intention of fawning too much and I don’t think anyone should do it. So I guess my reviews will be worth as information.

The camera of which I will be reviewing is the ST1000(CL65), one of Samsung’s strategic cameras in second half of the year. If you are interested in cameras, you must have seen an article…

You will find a lot of related articles if you search CL65, the overseas model name.

Above all, thanks to the powerful built-in wireless function, the ST1000(CL65) differentiates itself from other products by sharing photos with a social site without a PC.

GPS allows you to record location information on a photo and you can share photos with websites via Wi-Fi and you can freely send photos to a cell phone or other Bluetooth appliances thanks to an onboard Bluetooth. Isn’t that so cool? Wow! I can’t wait any more!

Now shall we see some photos of the product? I’m quite good at taking a photo of a product.

This is the front image. It does kind of look like aluminum but it’s plastic. However I don’t think it is a regular material but it looks like a reinforced plastics, I guess.

There is a mark ‘GPS’ on the front and ‘Wi-Fi’ on the back, but I couldn’t find a mark ‘Bluetooth’. It, however, surely supports Bluetooth!

This is the back image. The LCD is very large, isn’t it? The size is 3.5-inch and the design is very neat because there is no button thanks to the full touch LCD.

One thing I don’t like is that they did not use SD card as a memory as usual but used MicroSD card. It is a pretty excellent choice in terms of compatibility with the cell phone but the price to capacity does not come up with SD card. Personally I don’t like the small size for fear of losing it.

I now turned the camera on. Isn’t the blue light around the power button pretty? This may be called ‘edgy’? And take a look at the features shown on the back LCD. Personally I do not like a touch interface but for the camera, it is very instinctive and easy to use.

As this product is a sample for the experience group, there is no other accessory but an adapter and cable for charge. Although differently from the previous Samsung digital camera, it is not 24 pin cable for cell phone, I like the USB type of adapter. I really hate to carry a heavy adapter when I travel.

This is a photo I took first as soon as I received the camera under auto mode. I simply re-sized.

It is a little difficult for me to say that the noise suppression is good even though it is ISO 320. However, I can say that the auto white balance is pretty precise while it was dark indoor and the color reappearance is not bad. If you ask me how I can opine about the color reappearance with the white desk and cup, well…

Having used it for the last couple of days, it surely made me to cast away my prejudice over the Samsung camera that I had before only looking at the photo performance. It really became much better and can compete with some renowned Japanese digital camera. Well, it still may be difficult to compete with other manufacturers.

One of the reasons I wanted to buy the iPhone was that I can share photos immediately with internet. Now, I can say to the iPhone ‘Go away’!

All the features of this camera made it possible. If you read my postings, SNS users will probably buy this camera, I presume. Your kind attention to my four coming reviews of the features will be highly appreciated.

ST1000(CL65) is a new life-log digital camera with built-in GPS

Samsung’s new product ST1000(CL65), change the photographic paradigm.

I’m so delighted to receive the gold black one that I wanted the most of the five colors for the ST1000(CL65). The ST1000(CL65) is a new life-log digital camera with built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The product is not released yet but I had a great chance to receive a marketing sample.

From the front, you can see 12.2M pixels, 5x zoom, Schneider inner zoom lens, GPS and etc. The size of the Samsung ST1000(CL65) is 99.8mm * 60.8mm * 18.9mm. It felt comfortable in even my big hand.

From the rear, you can see 3.5 inch wide touch screen. It felt so good to the touch.

I was very surprised at the GPS function, which I like the most from the ST1000(CL65). However, if you turn on the GPS, the battery will quickly drain, so you might need a spare battery for a trip. 

That was my short preview of the SAMSUNG ST1000(CL65). Although I still need to learn a lot, I’ll try my best to take a good picture as many as possible with the SAMSUNG ST1000(CL65).

Samsung ST1000 awarded for outstanding technology

Photo-Facts has awarded the Samsung ST1000(CL65) with their first-ever award for outstanding technologies. Whereas other sites focus on in-depth tests, Photo-Facts solely focuses on the implanted technology.

The Samsung ST1000(CL65), which features WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and GPS launched in August, along with the edge-cutting Samsung ST550(TL225)/ST500(TL220).

Rod Lawton, the editor of the site, especially praised the camera’s function to communicate over Bluetooth, with other mobile devices.
Concluding this article with the word’s, that a camera doesn’t necessarily has to feature cutting edge functions, when it’s useful, simple and working.

The Samsung ST550(TL225) and ST500(TL220) bring the latest in compact camera innovation to consumers with Dual LCD screens on the front and back, offering twice the fun of any camera and allowing the user to take photographs they simply couldn’t take before.
