Hello, ST50 is a stylish and ultra-slim compact camera released from Samsung Digital Imaging in the first quarter of 2009. I ve been looking for a compact camera as a sub-use, and I ve got a good chance to use it before its official release and write this preview.
Body is made of stainless steel, and its design is stylish and minimal. It will appeal more to female users than to male.
It is ultra-slim as 94.2 x 55.7 x 16.6. It has protruding type lens that is 35-105(f3.0 - 5.6) in 35mm equivalent. The protruding type lens has faster speed and better picture quality tan inner zoom lens. Even with the protruding lens, it has slim body. And the lens come out too much, so there s not much inconveniency.
It uses 2.7 inch TFT LCD QVGA with 230,000 pixels. It is an intelligent LCD that automatically controls brightness according to the intensity of light around.
Frequently used functions like video recording, shooting mode, flash, close-up, timer, play, and delete buttons are placed outside.
SMART button, power button, zoom dial, and shutter button are located. I ll talk about the use of SMART mode in review.
It uses 20 pin connector terminal, so you can charge it by connecting to USB terminal or AC adaptor.
You can take pictures up to 200 slides under cipa standard, and the charging time lasts 120 minutes with use of AC adaptor. It is ok for simple go-away or one-day use.
And it uses SD card as memory. Depending on types of SD card, the capacity is different; MMCplus (2G max), SD (4G max), SDHC (8G max)
