Stylish Samsung Digital Camera ST50

ST50 is the smallest and slimmest camera from Samsung, but before I received it, I thought it would be just like other digital cameras. When I saw the picture online, I didn t think it had unique design or anything. But I got ST50 personally, I loved that the grip fits right in my hand. It was small but substantial, and had a basic design and was made of refined material. Also, it used protruding type lens that is rarely used in compact cameras, compensating its deficiency as a sub-camera. And the stylish red color allured me into a big city sentiment.

Over the last year, I ve concentrated on DSLR and forgot about sub-camera. The reasons I turned away from compact digital cameras is that they cannot express unique feelings in various environments and they re not one of a kind. I didn t want to look alike with everyone else.

However, the compact digital cameras that are introduced these days are filled with great functions and convenient features. The great example of it is SMART function. SMART is a self-control function that judges various environments itself. So it helps not to produce failed picture. Actually, I ve been quite impressed with its real ability in ST50.

I want to give a high credit on the design in that it put a large SMART button on the top. It is bold and helps access to SMART function easily. Some users wonder if it had to be printed in letters, but I think it makes it noticeable and more frequently used.

There are one battery, AV cable, strap, 20 pin USB cable (multiple use with data recharge), charger, and manual CD.

Battery

When you open the battery holder on the bottom, you can insert the battery like the right picture shows, and SD memory can be inserted right under there. I tested the SD memory up to 8 giga and it worked quite well. And I tested SDHC up to 4 giga and it showed great speed, too.

USB Cable & USB charging adaptor

USB data/charging cable is composed of 20 pin. If you have recently purchased a cell phone, it would be convenient for you to multi-use the charger. If there is a 20 pin gender which you can easily get from market, you can charge it with 24 pin cell phone charger. Since battery discharge is one of the concerns as a sub camera, it seems to be a really good choice. I recently spent lots of money purchasing Omnia phone, and I ve utilized the charging gender of it, and it felt really comfortable.

It has a portable size that fits into skinny jeans. Even with the camera on cell phone, I ve realized that at least one digital camera is needed. There are things that cell phone cameras and large DSLR cannot fulfill. When I see myself carrying ST50 everywhere, I realize that I ve got fascinated with it.
