I ll share my unpacking the ST50, Samsung s new product.
16.6mm ultra-slim digital camera, ST50. The box is as small as its slim size.
The camera I got was black, which seems manly.
ST50 has four colors; black/red/blue/silver.
On the right side of the camera box, there is an icon that shows ST50 s major features.
I quickly open the box like an animal that spotted a prey.
Wow! How luxurious it looks! It is made with strengthened stainless steel black body. ST50 has protruding type lens which is rarely used in 16.6mm ultra-slim body.
6.9cm (2.7") Intelligent LCD that changes its brightness according to light amount around. The LCD of ST50 has 230,000 pixels and size of 6.9cm(2.7"). So you can take pictures with clear and wide monitor. Especially, its Intelligent LCD function detects the light in the area and controls the brightness of LCD. When it s hard to see the LCD because of the reflection from the light above, it automatically controls the brightness, and when you re in a dark area where you can see the LCD clearly, it turns down the brightness so you can save the battery.

The most noticeable function of ST50 is Samsung s revolutionary technology, Smart Auto. Smart Auto helps to take professional-looking pictures anywhere, anytime, and under any situation. It automatically analyzes the shooting environment and sets up optimal mode out of 11 scene modes such as portrait, landscape, night scene, macro, etc. There s no need for users to control every settings for each situation. Just press and shoot!
It supports 11 different scene modes such as close-up, text document, landscape, backlight portrait, night scene, night portrait, etc.

Let s compare the size to a cigarette case!
The size looks similar, but as you can see, it is a lot slimmer than the cigarette case.
Inside the box of ST50 is composed with following.
Camera, Charger AC adapter / USB cable, AV cable, camera strap, battery. Not shown in the photo, but there are also user manual, warranty, and software CD. ST50 s case is sold separately. But I just wish that it was also included.
Like the 16.6mm slim body, the battery is also slim-type. The size is small but it is known that it lasts for shooting 200 slides pictures / recording 80 minutes video clip. And the average charging time is 120 minutes. You can charge it by USB cable and charger AC adaptor. You can also charge it using USB in regular PC or electronic products with host functions.
It is enjoyable to take new pictures in a new way and in a new place. But taking pictures with a new camera different from the old one is also very exciting. Please enjoy my upcoming photo story with ST50! :)
