P&I 2010, Seoul International Photo & Imaging Industry Show, was held from April 29^th to May 2^nd (4 days) COEX Korea Exhibition Center, Seoul, Korea.

 

 

Photo & Imaging is one of the most influential trade fairs in Asia, of photo & imaging industries. For more than 15 years, this show has been a significant meeting place for all photo-lovers from all over the world, amateurs & professionals alike.

Studio, Professional Photographers, Amateur Photgraphers, Photographic Equipment Maker or Seller, Printing, Publishing, Advertising, PR, Design, IT, Teachers, Students & others are the target visitors.

Profile for exhibit includes Cameras and Accessories, Photo developing, enlarging, finishing equipment, Digital Imaging system, Software for Digital Imaging Editing, Internet Portal Site, Studio facilities(Backgrounds, strobo, tripods, etc), Photo scanners, printers & Printing goods, Video cameras and other device(Battery, memory card, reader and etc.), Albums, Photo calendars, Bags, Clothes for photo, Optics goods(Binoculars, OHP, LCD projector, lens, etc.), Books, Newspaper.

Samsung has one of the biggest booths to display cameras, camcorders, and pictures.

The main theme of Samsung booth is NX10 and new products.

On the main stage, beautiful models pose with Samsung cameras for photos.

Behind the main stage, there is photo zone for NX10.

Samsung’s new products are tested by users. People can take pictures and even print their photos.

EX1(TL500) can take pictures well with f1.8 lens in the dark condition. EX1(TL500) has got a lot of attentions from users even it hasn’t been released yet.

Good to see WCIC members again! They have their photos and videos put on display at the gallery of booth.

10.000 Follower Giveaway – The Winner

On March 4, almost a month ago, we were able to achieve the 10,000 follower mark on Twitter, thanks to you guys.

In order to show you, that we truly appreciate the love and support of all our followers, we organized a sweepstakes on our Twitter, featuring prizes such as the brand-new Samsung NX10, Samsung SMX-C20 and the Samsung PL150.

And to be honest, we were astonished by the numbers of participants and voters. But foremost, the quality of all submissions were that high, that we had a hard time picking 10 finalist. Anyhow, today, we closed the official poll, and we present the winners of our event!

The winners are:

1st place. A total of 23% users (266 Votes) voted this picture.

21% of the votes (241 Votes) helped this photo to rank second.

18% (202 Votes) thought that this photo deserves to win the Samsung NX10, but still, the Samsung PL150 for the third place is great, as well!

The first review of NX pancake lens.

Optyczne.pl, the second biggest photography portal in Poland, has published the first review of Samsung NX 30 mm f/2.0 lens. All tests and reviews are available in English as well, the English version of the site is LensTip.com.

The review introduced that the Samsung NX 30 mm f/2.0 makes a good impression and enumerated strengths of NX pancake lens that its compact barrel and sensibly fast at the same time, excellent image quality in the frame centre, good image quality at the frame edge, chromatic aberration very well corrected, well-corrected astigmatism, good work against bright light, and relatively silent and quick autofocus. And there is a chart presenting a comparison between the tested lens and other „pancakes”, launched in the previous years.

Adapters for the NX10 have been unveiled at the PMA2010

Novoflex, the german manufacturer, showed nine adapters to various lens mounts for NX10.

The adapters will be available for the lenses from Nikon F, Canon FD, Minolta MD, Minolta/Sony Alpha, Leica R, Pentax K, Olympus OM, M42, and T2. It is showing that the NX10 gets high interest, even the NX10 has not been introduced to the markets except Korea. For more information, please visit here.

NX10 has a 25.5mm flange back, and a lens from another system can be mounted with an adaptor to the NX10 body. Flange back distance is the distance from the mounting flange to the image sensor.

Below is a table showing each flange back distance of cameras from other companies.

For example, with a Nikon lens, the NX10 body needs an adapter of 46.5-25.5=21 mm. In order to produce an adaptor, the flange back distance must have an enough gap between camera body and lens to give a room for the adaptor. So, the ones marked in red are not available to use adapters for NX10 because there would be difficult to focus to infinity.

Samsung NX10 will get more interests from now on.

NX10:World’s First Limited Offer Event

Samsung had NX10 launch of the first sales event on January 23rd 2010, Seoul, Korea. Only 200 people could buy NX10 for the day, hundreds of people gathered at the booth for this limited offer.

Number tickets were issued to the customers who want to buy NX10 starting at 3PM, and 1 hour later, the lottery started. Also telephoto lenses, tripods, and others were presented by the lottery system. It was a successful event due to many customers having fun time for about 1 and a half hour.
