Samsung Digital Camera ST50 delivered this Saturday. As a ultra slim camera, I ve been interested in it much. Seeing it actually, the box is also quite slim.
There s a word Going abroad, you will be more patriotic . Therefore, in Japan, using a Samsung digital camera might be adventurous, and in other ways, I can feel like I become special by using distinguished Samsung products, or might feel personality and pride to use a domestic product.
Most of all, the maker which is not common in Japan can make people curious, and for those who have a prejudice against Korean products, this ST50 can change their thought. With this expectation, I open this preview.

BATTERY
As you can see, the battery is also a slim type. In spite of the small size, it can take 200 pictures, or 80 minutes of video with 120 minutes of charging time according to the specification. This is enough for one day to take pictures outside.
Looking at the charger, it s possible to connect with USB cable. I need to check if it s possible with computer and moveable battery after reading the instruction.
MEDIA
The media is a SD card, and it can take 169 pictures on 12.2M pixel resolution with 1G. If you have 2G SD memory, I think it s enough for 2 days of shots outside.
IMPRESSION
It has been already 5 years, since I took pictures, but I haven t seen this slim camera like the ST500. I think I can carry this size of a camera for all days with my purse. The lens is a Samsung lens 35-105mm (on 35mm), so it has a good range to take objects.
The fun thing is that it sets AF automatically with the face recognition function on the smart button, and it even sets the AF of people on TV. However, it couldn t set the AF on a cat I like.
Due to the slim type, the lens barrel is also quite slim. When zooming, the lens barrel isn t much protruded with less noise, and I like that.
Today, I took several pictures on a sunny day. The shutter sound is quite good as a slim body. Since Japanese is also possible on the menu, there was nothing inconvenient for my friends.
Because it has been only 2 days, since I got the ST50, I have a lot of things to wonder. I ve found out there are so many interesting functions only by the instruction or some camera setting. I usually don t take a video much, but this time I will take a video and pictures with this ST50 and upload them.
