World first 24mm ultra wide angle optical 10x zoom digital camera

Samsung’s first compact digital camera in 2009 is the WB500 having 24~240mm lens on 35mm. There were some 28mm wide angle high zoom compact digital cameras, but wasn’t 24mm ultra wide angle and 10x optical high zoom digital camera. The WB500 already released in the photokina is the high end compact digital camera having 10.2M pixel, optical 10x zoom lens, Dual IS (Optical and Digital), and HD video recording.

24-240mm Schneider lens, compact design.
The WB500 has adopted the 24-240mm on 35mm and optical 10x zoom Schneider lens. Lens iris is F3.3-F5.8. It’s enough to take a picture in the life. If you are looking for a camera which has wider angle and high zoom, this is strongly recommended. It has good 5cm closeup shot, and 105 x 61.4 x 36.5 mm body size and 219g weight are relatively compact, so it’s more portable than other high zoom cameras.

10x zoom H.264 format HD video
The WB500 supports 1280x720(30fps, 720P) HD video. Supporting resolution and capacity 2 kinds of compressed files, with H.264 format, it can take high quality videos with less memory. Moreover, when taking a video, lossless optical zoom can be used, continuous AF is done quickly, and IS function is supported, so it’s good as a camcorder. And with the pause function, you can take scenes you want in one file.

10.2M pixel sensor, Dual IS
The WB500 has 1/2.33 inch side 10.2M pixel sensor, and supports ISO 1600. At 3M size, ISO 3200 is possible. With the OIS and DIS function, you can take a vivid picture on a bad situation.

Supporting adjustment of iris and shutter speed with Manual mode, you can make more creative pictures. Shutter speed is from 1/16 to 1/1500, and the iris can be set to 2 levels for night and inside. Moreover, for the pictures against the light and in the shady area, by the ACB, you can take a natural and bright picture.

Intelligent 2.7inch LCD and simple charge system
The LCD is wide viewing angle 2.7 inch 230K pixel LCD. The LCD is protected by hard panel, and bright and vivid to be confirmed at the sunlight. Also, when charging, without taking out a battery, you can charge it with AC adaptor by direct connection to the body or USB.
