“The launch of the HMX-Q10 is particularly important for us as it is one of the best demonstrations of Samsung's continuing innovation, providing high performing features and design in a model that makes the best camcorder experience available to all our customers”
.Samsung has created the HMX-Q10 to be a compact, practical and easy-to-use full HD camcorder that combines the best in Samsung innovation with incredibly simple functions, all available at an affordable price. The HMX-Q10 combines the world's first Switch Grip with Easy Operation via an LCD screen. The Switch Grip means that no matter how the camcorder is held, the G-magnetic sensor inside the HMX-Q10 recognizes the angle and turns the LCD display so it's easy to see, and controls recording easily from any angle. Easy Operation means that users can control detailed processes, turn the camcorder on and off and operate the playback function easily through the LCD screen, so controlling the device is intuitive and fuss-free, and viewing footage is as easy as capturing it. The HMX-Q10 also features a prominently placed record button that makes capturing video extremely simple, and straightforward. The slim and durable body also means that the HMX-Q10 is compact and light enough to be taken anywhere, and the product is so versatile it can also double as a 4.9 Megapixel (MP) still photo camera.

The HMX-Q10 sets the tone for the Samsung 2011 camcorder range, and raises the bar for affordable and easy-to-use camcorders built on the latest cutting-edge technology. The camcorder is the product of years of Samsung expertise in digital imaging, and is based on detailed customer insight research, revealing that simplicity and affordability are a key priority for an increasing number of camcorder users.

“The launch of the HMX-Q10 is particularly important for us as it is one of the best demonstrations of Samsung's continuing innovation, providing high performing features and design in a model that makes the best camcorder experience available to all our customers,” said Mr. Hyunho Chung, Executive Vice President and Head of the Digital Imaging Business, Samsung Electronics. “For example, we have developed the world's first Switch Grip technology so that the HMX-Q10 adapts to the consumer's lifestyle and setting – not the other way around. In addition, Easy Operation via the LCD and Smart Access UI takes the confusion out of recording, so that you can instantly record brilliant movies from the very first time you pick up the camcorder without the need for an instruction manual.”

The world's first Switch Grip (either-handed grip)

As a brand-new addition to the Samsung camcorder portfolio, the HMX-Q10 is built around the needs of the consumer who wants to capture their movies without fuss or complication. Samsung has developed the world's first Switch Grip technology, which ensures that when filming, the LCD screen adapts to how the camcorder body is being held. Whether you are left- or right-handed, shooting in difficult positions or combining recording film with other activities, you can always maintain perfect control over your video. The body of the HMX-Q10 has also been streamlined and made more compact so it can easily be carried anywhere.

Intuitive Easy Operation for ease of use

The HMX-Q10 includes a brand new Easy Operation and Smart Access UI that makes using the camcorder easier to use than ever before. Featuring an intuitive and clearly visible record button, the HMX-Q10 offers the best and most convenient operating system on the market, as it eliminates the need to have many separate buttons and keys to control the camcorder. Easy Operation via the 2.7” wide LCD screen allows the user to perform a variety of functions, including a pause function allowing you to stop and work out the best angle for your recording experience, the ability to turn the camcorder on and off, and playback mode so users can immediately review their footage. The camcorder's intuitive Smart Access UI feature grants users the opportunity to operate the camcorder's advanced functions and manage detailed processes with ease.

The best in high-quality video

The Samsung HMX-Q10 is based on quality components and functions to help consumers capture brilliant, clear videos in astonishing quality, effortlessly and regardless of the situation. The HMX-Q10 captures video in 1920x1080/60i full HD, and includes an OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) Duo system to compensate for hand-shaking better than ever before, creating a stable, clear video every time – even when walking or moving around. The HMX-Q10's features also include a 5MP BSI CMOS sensor, which records with twice the sensitivity of normal CMOS sensors, dramatically reducing noise and distortion while also enhancing recording quality in low-light conditions, so great quality video can be captured in any situation.

The HMX-Q10 also features an upgraded version of Samsung's Smart Auto scene recognition technology, which analyzes key elements of the composition of the footage such as brightness, motion, color and subject and then selects the most appropriate settings to produce the best results possible. For the HMX-Q10, Samsung Record Pause technology has also been introduced, allowing the user to take brief pauses in filming before re-starting, so they don't need to merge files when finished. This allows for easier editing and makes the HMX-Q10 perfect for filming at sports events or parties. In addition to great movie functions, the HMX-Q10 can also capture 4.9MP still photos, giving users the ability to capture brilliant snapshots without the need to carry a camera. With the intuitive LCD touch screen, powered by the new Smart Access UI, users can record and review their videos easily and enjoyably.

Users can also choose to adopt more manual control. With the HMX-Q10's Easy Manual Mode setting, users can access and calibrate the entire breadth of easy-to-use manual features (White Balance, Exposure Values, Backlighting, Self Timer, and C.Nite) through the intuitive interface. The new Art Film function also means that video can be captured in more creative ways, using special effects such as Time Lapse and Black & White, making video recording fun and easy.

Samsungimaging’s Special Invitation – The 2nd Imageloger’s Exhibition

Last Saturday, the Samsung imageloger’ s Exhibition was held at Samsung d’ light in Seoul. This second exhibition followed on the heels of the first successful exhibition held in June of this year.
Like the last exhibition, many people participated in everything from the opening ceremony to viewing Imagelogers’ photos to just enjoying the whole event. The second half of the Imageloger’s Photo Exhibition will be held from December 18, 2010 until January 15, 2011 in the gallery hall of the Samsung d’light.
As you may or may not already know, Imageloger is a combination of the words ‘image’ and ‘blogger’. It refers to a social relationship or space through which we share stories by way of images. The Imageloger is aimed to contribute to a better and happier world while sharing images under the title of “I am a good blogger.”
Introduction of the Imagelogers and the reports on their activities were made by Samsung’s staffs in charge of this event. Ten Imagelogers from China visited the opening ceremony and celebrated the photo exhibition. They also didn’t forget to mention their expectation of Samsung’s new camera which will make its debut sometime in the upcoming year.
We can’t forget the awards ceremony for the best Imagelogers. Samsung awarded plaques and additional prizes to four Imagelogers. They were surprised yet delighted at receiving the unexpected prizes. Also, Samsung held a lucky draw for the attendees by giving the Galaxy Tab and a Samsung camera.
While enjoying refreshments, attendees had time to appreciate 116 of the awesome pictures taken by the Imagelogers from 16 countries including those by Daniel Kulinski and Ben Heine.

Tokyo is burning!

Samsung Electronics has provided the author of this article with the mentioned digital imaging device.
Tokyo is still at the peak of autumn. December has started already but it is not so cold yet. Instead, the leaves turned red & yellow and they are making fantastic scenes.
In my campus, there are so many ginko trees, and they are all burning!!!
Sky is high and clear, the weather is so lovely. People are enjoying an excursion for viewing autumnal leaves, stepping on the fallen leaves. I’ve heard that deadly hot last summer made leaves tinted more vividly.
Now I understood why Japanese people have loved ginko so much.

Recently I have been to Kamakura, which is the historical city that used to be a capital of Japan during Kamakura period. It takes about an hour from Tokyo so many people visit there on holiday.
I could see the beautiful fallen leaves in Kamakura as well, and even more peaceful atmosphere than big city, Tokyo, so I wanna show some of those I took that day.

NX10, and its image sensor!

Hello everyone,
WHOA…time’s fast. Four months already passed since my last, ehm, my first post and finally I’m sittin’ here writing my second blog post.
So what happened during the past four months? Besides going to Vegas in January (YEAH $_$ ALL THE WAY) to attend this year’s CES 2010, nothing special happened. Meaning, I have nothing to complain about, if someone should label me as lazy.
I assume you can imagine that this article is about CES 2010, and you’re right.
This post is more or less directly related to CES 2010. To be precise it’s related to one product:
The Samsung NX10 digital camera.

[CES2010]SDI_Day-1_089
“There are tons of articles and news on other sites, so why should I consider reading this article?”
YES, there are tons of articles spread on the internet, and I also know that there are way more interesting topics I could talk about. But, once in a while, I guess it’s not wrong to do the job I’m supposed to do.
Anyways, as said, there are tons of articles, but most, NOT ALL, articles are introducing the NX10 as a Micro Four Third camera.
But let’s get it straight, the Samsung NX10 is NOT using a Micro Four Thirds system, nor has it ever used one. Thus meaning, articles which introduce the NX10 as a micro four third camera are simply wrong.
The Samsung NX10 is a digital camera using an APS-C sensor, the APS-C stands for Advanced Photo System Type-C.
So what is the difference between APS-C and Micro Four Third systems?
Spearheading:
If you’re really eager to know, read this amazing article published by Popphoto.com. Because explaining technical stuff, I don’t even understand doesn’t make sense to me at all, and I don’t want to expose any wrong information’s.
However, what I can tell you is, that the APS-C image sensor is bigger than micro four third sensors.
The increased size of image sensors results in improved low light performances and greater dynamic range. Thus meaning, the image quality of the pictures taken with an APS-C are theoretically better than the ones taken with a Micro Four Third sensor.
The point is, although the differences of both technologies are significant some sites categorize the Samsung NX10 among Micro Four Third cameras, which is simply misleading.
I mean, that’s like saying a usual VW Golf equals a Ferrari because it rolls on 4 tires.
It simply doesn’t make any sense.
So, concluding my post of awesomeness, if you should consider buying a camera, providing better image quality than an usual digital compact camera, but more portable than a DSLR, the NX10 should be your pick.
P.S. Dear authors of the sites, I’m addressing only those who stated that the NX10 is a Micro Four Third camera, please make some corrections or add at least a phrase that the NX10 is using APS-C.
P.P.S. I’m still bad at taking pictures!

Visiting a friend near by

Once upon a time when I was bored as well as Brandy,

We stormed into the house of a friend living near by.

Unfamiliar with the words ‘shy’ or ‘scared’,

Brandy roams around everywhere.

Leaving me exhausted trying to follow her to take pictures.. kkkkkkk
