In this picture you can see Brownsea Island on the horizon in Poole Harbour which is the second largest natural harbour in the world. The properties here in Sandbanks are some of the most expensive worldwide. This shot was taken using the conventional settings and this brings out the reflection of the sky in the water.

This shot of a passing yacht was taken using the sunset mode in the last few minutes of sunlight.

This picture shows the same small yacht passing through the mouth of the harbour past Brownsea Island. This shot was taken using the conventional settings and you can see the contrast to the previous picture.

This shot of Poole Harbour at Sandbanks was taken using the ‘sunset’ setting on the scene function which emphasises the orange glow of the sunset. As you can see the tide is well out and people can walk around the edge of the bay.

This is the same shot but using the conventional settings which bring out shades of blue from the reflections on the water.

This shot was taken using the ‘sunset’ mode on the WB1000. You can see all the small sailing boats dotted across the harbour during the last few minutes of the day. Poole Harbour attracts many tourists during the summer months and you can see this is the busiest time of year.
